Bellator 228 Medical Suspensions: Corrales & McKee Facing Lengthy Sits

Bellator 228 has wrapped up and the medical suspensions have been revealed.

Gegard Mousasi edged out Lyoto Machida via split decision in the main event. The co-main event saw Patricio Freire successfully defend his featherweight title against Juan Archuleta via unanimous decision. This also served as an opening round bout in the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix.

Bellator 228 Medical Suspensions

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has rolled out medical suspensions for the Bellator 228 card. Henry Corrales, who lost to Darrion Caldwell, and Antonio McKee, who defeated William Sriyapai, are facing 180-day sits. Here’s the full list (via MMAJunkie.com):

  • Gegard Mousasi: suspended mandatory seven days
  • Lyoto Machida: suspended mandatory seven days
  • Patricio Freire: suspended mandatory seven days
  • Juan Archuleta: suspended 60 days or until cleared by physician for cut to right side of head

  • Georgi Karakhanyan: suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for knockout loss (no exception)

  • Daniel Weichel: suspended 60 days or until cleared by physician for cut to left cheek

  • Jason Edwards: suspended mandatory seven days
  • Benji Gomez: suspended mandatory seven days
  • Johnny Santa Maria: suspended mandatory seven days

  • Ian Butler: suspended mandatory seven days
  • Emillio Williams: suspended 180 days or until cleared by physician for right knee injury; also suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for TKO loss (no exception)
  • A.J. Agazarm: suspended mandatory seven days
  • Jonathan Quiroz: suspended 180 days or until cleared by physician for right hand injury
  • Ava Knight: suspended mandatory seven days
  • Shannon Goughary: suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for TKO loss (no exception)
  • Antonio McKee: suspended 180 days or until cleared by physician for right knee injury
  • William Sriyapai: supended 60 days or until cleared by physician for cut to left eye; also suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for TKO loss (no exception)
  • Johnny Cisneros: suspended mandatory seven days
  • Mike Jasper: suspended 180 days or until cleared by physician for left ankle injury; also suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for TKO loss (no exception)
